1. Parsley – Step aside parsley, there are some new herbs that are great for helping quell bad breath. They are spearmint, eucalyptus, coriander, tarragon, cardamom and rosemary. All of these are great little fighters in order to stop bad breath in its tracks.

2. Get some active cultures. Here we are speaking about yogurt. It will help cut down on the bacteria in the mouth. Plaque and gum disease were also reduced when yogurt eaters took place in a study. Make sure you get the yogurt that has active cultures in it and not the overly processed kind.

3. Crunchy types – Carrots, apples and celery or any fiber-rich veggie or fruit is your buddy when it comes to fighting bad breath. Plaque build-up in your mouth causes odors. Therefore, you want to eat foods that cause an increase in saliva production so that your mouth stays moist.

4. Masking techniques – You shouldn’t be lazy and replace brushing your teeth with chewing on sugarless gum after a meal. However, in a pinch it can it will be able to freshen your breath and will also increase saliva production so that place and bacteria may be rinsed away.

5. High C’s – Eating citrus fruits, berries, melons as well as other Vitamin C-rich foods make an environment that is inhospitable for bacteria to grow in.
